Coinbase Reactivates CoinbaseAssets for Official Listing Announcements

Coinbase Separates Asset Announcements From Trading Content

Coinbase is reactivating @CoinbaseAssets as the dedicated account for official asset announcements on X. The account will cover new listings, delistings, trading availability changes and network-related updates, giving users one central place to follow operational changes affecting supported assets.

The decision separates asset-related announcements from the broader trading content published through @CoinbaseMarkets. Coinbase said the volume of operational updates has grown, creating a clearer need to distinguish asset information from market insights, product news and trading education.

The change reverses a communications approach introduced in September 2025, when Coinbase consolidated listing announcements under Coinbase Markets. The earlier announcement described the move as an effort to simplify how customers tracked listings across the company's trading products.

What CoinbaseAssets Will Announce

The reactivated account will serve as the primary source for official Coinbase asset updates. Its coverage will extend beyond new spot listings to include announcements across several trading products and operational areas.

Users can follow @CoinbaseAssets for:

  • New spot, dated futures, options and perpetual futures listings.

  • Changes to trading availability, deposits and transfers.

  • Delistings, asset migrations and trading-pair changes.

  • Network updates, ticker changes, contract addresses and market parameters.

  • Roadmap announcements, launches and other operational changes affecting supported assets.

This broader scope means the account will cover changes that may affect how and where an asset can be accessed, transferred or traded. Users can follow the official CoinbaseAssets account on X for these updates.

CoinbaseMarkets Will Continue Serving Traders

While CoinbaseAssets handles official asset announcements, @CoinbaseMarkets will focus on information designed for traders. Its content will include market insights, trading context, product updates and educational material.

CoinbaseMarkets may also amplify asset announcements when they are particularly relevant to its audience. However, CoinbaseAssets will remain the primary channel for official listing, delisting and asset-operation updates.

The division gives the two accounts distinct roles: one concentrates on changes to supported assets, while the other provides broader market and trading information. Users interested in both operational announcements and market analysis may want to follow both accounts.

The Coinbase Markets account on X remains the channel for trading-focused content and product information.

Why Coinbase Is Changing Its Announcement Strategy

Coinbase previously moved asset listing announcements to CoinbaseMarkets to reduce fragmentation across its social media accounts. As its operational asset updates increased, the company identified a need to separate those notices from the trading insights and product content already published through the same account.

Reactivating CoinbaseAssets restores a dedicated channel for information such as network changes, deposit availability and asset migrations. These updates can be operationally important because they may affect how customers interact with supported cryptocurrencies, even when they do not represent a new listing.

Coinbase's digital asset listing guide provides additional context on its listing process, including legal, qualitative and technical reviews. A listing announcement should still be distinguished from the point when trading becomes available, which can depend on technical integration and other requirements.

What Changes for Coinbase Users?

Coinbase says the account reorganization does not change how customers trade. It is a change to how the company communicates asset announcements rather than a stated change to its trading services.

For users, the main practical difference is knowing where to find specific information. CoinbaseAssets will be the central source for new listings, delistings, availability changes and other asset updates. CoinbaseMarkets will remain focused on trading insights, market context, product features and education.

The updated structure is intended to make Coinbase announcements easier to follow by giving each account a clearer purpose. Customers can monitor CoinbaseAssets for official asset-related changes and use CoinbaseMarkets for information relevant to their trading activity.
