Base's Tokenized Stock Market Expands

Base continues to attract projects bringing traditional financial assets and blockchain-based services onchain. One of the week’s major developments was the launch of 19 new Coinbase Tokenized Stocks on Base, including SONYc, NOKc and SAPc. The expansion adds more tokenized equity products to the network’s growing financial ecosystem.

The update also highlighted substantial trading activity. Base recorded $500 million in trading volume on Coinbase Tokenized Stocks during the previous week, while Aerodrome-related ecosystem project Aeroxyz reportedly reached $1 billion in Coinbase Tokenized Stocks volume on Base in just one month. These figures point to growing activity around tokenized stock products, although trading volume does not by itself measure the number of unique users or the value of assets held.

Other applications are expanding access to tokenized equities. Superform launched Earn Stocks on Base, allowing users to access DeFi tools connected to tokenized versions of major technology stocks. The project later reported that Earn Stocks deposits had surpassed $1 million. Meanwhile, Hey.xyz listed 92 tokenized stocks, and Grow added 93 UK stocks, including HSBC, AstraZeneca, BP and Rolls-Royce.

New Products Bring Traditional Assets Onchain

Several launches are extending the range of financial assets available through Base applications. Zoth introduced zMAG7, an equal-weight basket of tokenized stocks representing the Magnificent Seven technology companies, designed to be held in users’ wallets. Dialectic Group also added seven Magnificent Seven vaults on Base through Makina.

Centrifuge added deSPXA as collateral on Hyperdrive, allowing holders to borrow USDC against exposure to the S&P 500 through the product. Renn Finance is developing options-backed loans for tokenized stocks, with a beta targeted for Base Batches 004. These products illustrate how tokenized assets can be used in applications beyond buying and selling, including collateral and lending.

For users, these developments create additional ways to interact with financial assets through blockchain-based applications. However, tokenized stock products can differ in their legal structure, shareholder rights, redemption mechanisms and geographic availability. Users should review each product’s documentation rather than assume that a token provides the same rights as directly holding a conventional share.

Stablecoin Payments and Institutional Partnerships

Stablecoins remain another important part of Base’s expansion. Yuno Payments added stablecoin checkout on Base, enabling merchants to accept stablecoin payments. The launch adds another payment option for businesses looking to use blockchain-based dollar-denominated assets.

Coinbase and Gennius also brought ONED USD to Base, beginning with Argentina as part of a broader Latin American rollout. The initiative is intended to help banks in the region convert deposits, transfer funds around the clock and spend through Visa. The announcement highlights how stablecoins may be used for payment and settlement services in addition to crypto trading.

Base is also working with SMBC Nikko to build an institutional DeFi Gateway for Japan. The partnership adds an institutional finance angle to the network’s ecosystem, alongside its consumer-facing payment and trading products. More broadly, Base positions itself as an Ethereum Layer 2 network designed to support onchain applications; users can learn about the network through the official Base website.

DeFi Lending, Credit and Trading Infrastructure

DeFi development on Base is extending beyond tokenized stocks into lending, credit verification and trade execution. Tenor Finance added fixed-rate lending and borrowing powered by Morpho, while Avant Protocol’s market on Morpho grew to $2.4 million on Base. Avant also added incentives to its Morpho market.

CREDiFi launched zkTLS verification on Base, enabling borrowers to prove credit-score information onchain. The aim is to connect information from existing online sources with blockchain-based applications without requiring users to publish all their underlying data publicly. Contavcbr also launched Reserva on Base, giving users access to DeFi tools using NORA Finance’s BRS.

Trading infrastructure is expanding as well. Rift launched its execution API on Base, routing transactions to seek the best available price without additional fees from the service, according to the announcement. Squid Router reached 500,000 transactions on Base, while Veranta added 10 assets available for trading. Baibai.cx also added Coinbase Tokenized Stocks for trading.

These integrations support a broader range of onchain financial activity, from asset swaps to borrowing and credit-related services. Their practical value will depend on factors such as liquidity, execution quality, product terms and user demand.

Ecosystem Milestones and Developer Activity

Base reported more than 2 million validity transactions since Cobalt launched on the network. The milestone adds to a week of ecosystem updates that included growth in applications and new developer opportunities.

The Colosseum Crypto World’s Fair was scheduled to close participation on October 12, with a $25,000 Base track open to Base builders. Yodl Pay received a Base Builder Grant, while VibeStarter launched version 2 of its community fundraising platform for vibecoded applications. Pred also promoted gift boxes with $100,000 in rewards tied to sports trading on Base.

The ecosystem also saw fundraising activity. Spiko raised a Series B round led by NEA, Antseed raised funds in a token round led by Spark Capital, and Umia Finance closed its public auction with $6 million from ten funds and nearly 700 individuals. These announcements indicate continued activity across projects building on Base, though the funding details do not alone establish the long-term success of the products.

Base Connects With Global Crypto Communities

Base participated in Token2049 in Singapore, where Jesse Pollak and the Base team connected with builders and traders from across the Asia-Pacific region. The network is also set to join Devcon 8 in Mumbai, creating another opportunity to engage developers across India and the wider Ethereum ecosystem. Event information is available through the official Devcon website.

The latest episode of Powered by Base featured Serpin, CEO of Ethos Network. The update adds to the ecosystem’s focus on showcasing founders and teams building applications on the network.

Other consumer-facing developments included The Tailgate App ranking among the top 15 apps in Apple’s App Store. Beefy Finance also began a campaign involving PayPal and Roblox tokenized assets, while Superform, Grow and Hey continued expanding tokenized stock access.

What the Latest Base Updates Show

The week’s announcements point to several areas of activity on Base: tokenized equities, stablecoin-based payments, DeFi lending, trading infrastructure and developer support. The reported $500 million in weekly Coinbase Tokenized Stocks volume, $1 billion milestone for Aeroxyz, and growth in applications such as Superform and Squid Router provide concrete indicators of ecosystem activity.

At the same time, individual milestones measure different things. Trading volume, deposits, transactions, fundraising and tokenized-asset listings are not directly interchangeable measures of adoption. Their significance depends on continued usage, liquidity, product design and the ability of projects to serve users over time.

For now, Base’s latest developments show an ecosystem pursuing both financial applications and developer growth, with tokenized assets and stablecoin payments among its prominent areas of expansion.
