Base Ecosystem Adds 25 Launches and Announcements in October

Base Expands Across Payments, DeFi and Tokenized Assets

Base's ecosystem recorded 25 product launches, integrations and announcements during October, highlighting the network's expanding role in digital payments, decentralized finance and tokenized financial products.

The developments involve established companies such as Mastercard, Cloudflare, Ripple, Marqeta and Thunes, alongside crypto platforms and financial technology startups. The projects cover several areas, including payments made by AI agents, stablecoin transfers, institutional lending, tokenized stocks and consumer-facing applications.

The roundup was shared through a post on Base's official X account. While some products are already live, others involve integrations or initiatives still being developed. Together, the announcements provide a snapshot of the different use cases being built across the network.

AI Agents Gain New Payment Infrastructure

A major theme in October was the development of payment systems that allow AI agents and software applications to pay for digital services.

Mastercard launched Agent Pay for Machines in collaboration with Cloudflare, enabling AI agents to purchase digital services using the x402 payment protocol on Base. The initiative builds on Mastercard's work to support automated transactions while keeping businesses in control of agent permissions and spending. Mastercard has also published details about the Agent Pay for Machines initiative.

Cloudflare also opened its Monetization Gateway on Base. The system allows APIs to charge AI agents for individual requests, with payments settled in USDC. This creates a potential payment model in which software agents pay for the specific services they use instead of relying exclusively on traditional subscriptions.

Credifi introduced Credifi Zero, a product designed to let anonymous users and AI agents qualify for credit without providing personal information. The announcement did not include further details about eligibility requirements or credit limits.

Stablecoin Payments Reach More Financial Services

Stablecoin infrastructure accounted for a large portion of October's announcements. Ripple launched its RLUSD stablecoin on Base and is providing liquidity to support users holding and transferring the asset on the network. Open Standard also launched OUSD, offering 1:1 USD conversion paths through integrations involving Coinbase, Mastercard, Stripe and Visa.

OnePay added the ability for users to transfer USDC directly into their checking account balances. This gives people receiving payments in stablecoins another way to access and spend those funds without first routing them through a cryptocurrency exchange.

Other payment integrations focused on merchants and international transfers. Thunes is integrating stablecoins into its global payout network on Base, allowing businesses to send and receive cross-border payments. Marqeta is bringing stablecoin-backed cards to enterprise customers, with settlement taking place on Base.

Atom added stablecoin checkout and seller payouts, with access to more than two million domains. Yuno also introduced stablecoin payment acceptance, allowing merchants to offer one-click checkout without building additional payment rails or undertaking extra integration work.

In Latin America, Gennius is working with Coinbase to bring digital-asset services to banks, starting in Argentina. The planned services allow participating banks to convert eligible deposits into ONED USD, support transfers around the clock and enable Visa spending.

Institutional DeFi and Lending Developments

October also brought new initiatives aimed at expanding institutional access to decentralized finance.

SMBC Nikko is building an institutional DeFi Gateway for Japan on Base. The project is intended to create a regulated route for Japanese financial institutions to access DeFi services.

Bitso launched Bóvedas on Base, giving users access to DeFi tools involving its MXNB stablecoin and USDC. The product is powered by Morpho, with risk parameters and strategy curation handled by Gauntlet.

Lending activity also expanded through two additional projects. Birch Hill launched the Groma Ecosystem Vault, where users can lend USDC backed by apartment buildings in Boston and Providence. FalconX's USDC credit facility also went live on Base, allowing lenders to deposit native Base USDC and generate returns from institutional credit activity.

Mocha Trade received its full $500,000 Y Combinator investment in USDC on Base, adding another example of stablecoins being used for business financing and investment transfers.

Tokenized Stocks Bring New Trading and Credit Products

Tokenized stocks were another important part of the October activity. Pendle launched PendleLoop on Base, allowing users to build leveraged long positions in Coinbase Tokenized Stocks through Aave markets and access incentives distributed through Merkl.

Superform brought its SuperNVDA and SuperTSLA products to Pendle on Base. Holders can use these tokenized stock products to pursue fixed yields, earn rewards or gain exposure to potential yield increases.

Exa introduced a credit card backed by Coinbase Tokenized Stocks. The product allows users to connect a Coinbase account and spend against tokenized stock collateral.

Luca extended its application to support tokenized stocks on Base, giving users in Latin America access to these assets through its existing digital-dollar experience. Zoth also launched zMAG7, a product that uses one stablecoin deposit to hold equal-weight exposure to seven tokenized stocks: AMZNc, AAPLc, NVDAc, GOOGLc, METAc, MSFTc and TSLAc. The product is described as being backed by real shares held in regulated custody.

Toros Finance introduced Toros Options on Base, allowing users to trade options linked to Bitcoin, Ether and other assets. The positions are tokenized on Base, and the product includes cashback features.

Consumer Apps and Digital Collectibles Expand

Several announcements focused on everyday applications and digital collectibles. Tuyo redesigned its entire application as it expands its banking-focused services on Base. Dyli also launched on the network, offering collectors the ability to open collectible packs, trade items, store favorites in vaults or arrange physical delivery.

OpenSea opened its mobile application to everyone, adding trading options for memes, art, trading cards and perpetual futures on Base. The move brings several types of digital asset activity into a single mobile application.

Together, these consumer-focused developments show that Base's October activity extended beyond financial infrastructure into applications designed for collectors, traders and everyday users.

October Announcements Highlight Base's Expanding Use Cases

The 25 announcements show how Base is attracting projects across several parts of the digital asset industry. Stablecoin payments and financial integrations formed a major share of the activity, while AI-agent transactions, tokenized stocks and institutional DeFi added further areas of development.

However, the announcements represent a mixture of live products, integrations and projects under development rather than 25 fully completed launches. Their longer-term impact will depend on product availability, adoption and actual usage across the network.

For Base, October's activity demonstrates the range of applications being developed around its blockchain infrastructure, from automated payments and cross-border transfers to tokenized financial assets and consumer-facing services.
